Gary McDonell’s, Crossakiel, was formerly owned by Watt’s. Andy Carroll served his apprenticeship here and later took over the business. He ran a successful bar and grocery trade, petrol pump and weighbridge facility, and a dancehall attached to the premises. The business was later taken over by Seamus Cogan, Peter Byrne, Michael Hannon, and finally Gary McDonnell.
