We have been informed about a problem with the kind of door locks used in the doors in the Cairns Estate.  Over a period of time the door locks start to get harder and harder to close and lock.  This apparently is due to the fact that some metal pieces (over time) come off the lock and wedge themselves into the lock mechanism, stopping the lock from either locking, or being wedged closed making it impossible to open the front door.

Munster Joinery recomend that you spray DW40 every two months on the locks to keep them well oiled and to stop this from happening.

This kind of damaged is not cover under your home bond scheme but the door locks are covered for a few years by a company called Munster Joinery.

You can contact them on:-

Head Office:
Ballydesmond, County Cork, Ireland
Telephone: 064 51151 or Facsimile: 064 51312

Although the parts are covered under warranty, a call out charge of  €60 will be requested.
